Audience Feedback Questions


These are the questions for our audience feedback for our opening sequence:



  • Does our film portray the working class background of the male character successfully in the opening two minutes (posture, clothing, dialogue, other signifiers)?


"Yes, through his clothes, the way he walks, and the fact that he is coming out of a block of flats."
"Through his persona, you can tell his background"
"His clothing was stereotypical of the working class"



  • Does our film portray the middle class background of the female character successfully in the opening two minutes (posture, clothing, dialogue, other signifiers)?


"Yes, through her house, her clothes, and the fact that she has time"



  • Is the musical background of the character's displayed successfully?


"Yes, through the use of the music studio and the text the girl receives"



  • Does the non-diagetic music reinforce the working class and youth cultural background of the male character in the first minute?


"It is stereotypical to the main character, it is the sort of music he would be associated with"
"It is typical to the working class"



  • How appealing is the quality of the filming, editing, sound, acting?


"The surrounding is good, the different camera angles made it more clear, showing what should be emphasised and what shouldn't"
"It was done really well, you could tell who the characters were supposed to be"



  • Was the lifestyle of the characters portrayed successfully?


"Yes from the way they spoke, dressed and and interacted with people"



  • Were the backgrounds of the characters portrayed to be different?


"They were, through the clothing, slang and settings"


  • How successfully was the youth culture genre portrayed?


"Very well"
